Teaching & Learning @ UA

Are you a faculty member or a graduate student who would like support in developing your teaching? Looking for opportunities to connect with others who are interested in pedagogical innovation? Here are a few resources at The University of Alabama that may be helpful:

Teaching Hub @ the College of Arts & Sciences

The Teaching Hub connects faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences with the tools needed to examine their teaching and identify areas in which strategic pedagogical interventions could enhance student learning and instructor satisfaction. Our work is guided by the notion that teaching improves like any other skill — through practice, reflection, innovation, and mentorship — and we aim to support faculty throughout that development process.

Faculty Resource Center

The Faculty Resource Center provides faculty development and support for instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award

In 1976, The University of Alabama National Alumni Association began an innovative program designed to annually recognize four faculty members at the Capstone who demonstrate “Outstanding Commitment to Teaching.” The awards are based on the faculty members’ commitment to teaching and the impact they have had on students through the teaching and learning process. All full-time faculty are eligible.
